This challenging class focuses on asana's largely targeting the shoulders. The sequence is tight, specific and gets the job done! After a series of sun salutes A and B, and a variation of dolphin poses and upper body strengtheners, the standing sequence includes a variety of lunges and balance poses meant to open the hips, cultivate balance and strengthen the legs done with different arm positions meant to increase the flexibility in the shoulders.. Prayer twist and twisting triangle are also included. Arm balances will include crow and side crow. Afterwards we will move into wheel and a long, deep floor seqeunce of twists and hip openers both supine (on the back) and seated leading to shoulder stand and then savasana. This practice is good for students with experience who are familiar with the vinyasa practice and wants a deep sequence that challenges, strengthens, brings awareness to the breath without over instructing to the point of distraction.
