Vinyasa Flow Yoga means “to arrange or place in a special way”. It synchronizes the movement with the breath and as a result the practice can become a more meditative experience that connects the mind with the body. The emphasis of this slowed-down and breath centered class is on transitions, drsti (focus), proper alignment and mindful movements to prepare for a deeper meditation. This class will explore sun salutes A and B, reverse warrior, warrior, triangle, extended side angle and twists, locust, bridge and wheel leading to a forward bend/hip opener sequence that will ultimately move us into full lotus. This is a very grounded class teaching the student to understand the deeper meditative rhythm that can make vinyasa so internal and meaningful.
